2020 NBA Playoff Hangover (Day 19): Clippers Overcome Lethargy, Take 2-1 Series Lead

Welcome to the Basketball Hangover. NBA Playoff Basketball is going on!

Paul George had a huge game against the Nuggets. No, I will not call him by that name.

The Clippers were down by as many as 12 points. Nikola Jokic for Denver was hitting everything and many people were wondering about the Clips.

Not enough chemistry. They don’t care enough. They’re a weird team.

But goodness, do they have talent. Paul George caught fire and his play on both ends showed why people were so high on him in the first place. Kawhi Leonard was his usual robotic self. Lou Williams made key plays down the stretch and even played some defense. Eventually, the Clippers overwhelmed the Nuggets in the fourth quarter with a 14-4 boost.

We gotta talk about this block by Kawhi Leonard, though:

Jamal Murray, who has become his up-and-down self again in this series, tried to obliterate Kawhi with a jam but Leonard and his big… finger blocked the dunk. One can say it was an F U block. What a defensive play.

PG-13 finished with 32 points while Kawhi had 23-14-6. Jokic did what he could with 32-12-8 but Mu rray struggled once again with 14 points off 5 for 17 shooting. Michael Porter, Jr. had a big game at 18 points and 10 boards, including a devastating slam that even your grandparents could appreciate.

Sometimes, people can analyze these teams to death. But if you just say, “Well, this team is going to win because they’re too talented,” I’ll buy it. The Clippers are so damn talented. That’s why I picked them to win the championship before the season started.

Bullet Passes

Gosh. That Celtics/Raptors game was so offensive to watch. I don’t have much to say other than Toronto better realize it’s an elimination game on Wednesday.

Actually, I do have something to say. What about this mean dunk by Jaylen Brown?

This is assault.

The Celtics led by as many as 30 points in this game. It felt like 300.
