The League Made Awful Decisions Regarding Kevin Durant

Welcome to the Basketball Hangover. I write about what’s happening in the NBA daily, even when COVID has ravaged the league.

The league made their dumbest move yet in this pandemic.

What is the NBA doing?

So before the game, the league decided that Kevin Durant is inactive because he was in contact with someone whose test was inconclusive. If that’s the case, then the Nets shouldn’t have played if they really wanted to be safe.

Yet they went on with their game against the Raptors. Suddenly, the league deemed that Durant was okay to play so he came off the bench.

Then the one that Durant was in contact with came back with a positive test. The league then said Durant was ineligible because of this so he was pulled out of the game in the third quarter. Predictably, Durant wasn’t happy about this

AFTER HE PLAYED BASKETBALL WITH THE NETS AND THE RAPTORS. Durant is now supposed to sit out the next few games because of contract tracing but now the Nets and Raptors are in danger of getting positive tests because of this.

Of much less importance, the Nets lost the game because of this wishy-washy decision about Durant. When they could’ve sat out BECAUSE of what happened with Kevin. Is this all because it was a national TV game?

It’s already bad enough that the NBA has decided that they would go ahead with an all-star game. De’Aaron Fox, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and James Harden are among the few that said this is not a great idea, to say the least. And I already said before that the league usually follows whatever LeBron says. We’ll see.

In the meantime, the league has made some awful decisions this week. I’m pretty disgusted with the NBA at the moment. I’ll leave the scores and the play but I don’t think I want to talk about basketball right now. Obviously, we always knew it was about the money but I didn’t think the league would even sink this low.
