During Game 1 between the Las Vegas Aces and the Connecticut Sun, we received word that the other Game 1 that was supposed to happen after the aforementioned game is going to be postponed. The Seattle Storm and the Minnesota Lynx will have to play another day.

From the WNBA:

Dorothy J. Gentry actually broke the news.

The good news is that the COVID tests were inconclusive. And this isn’t the first time we have seen an inconclusive test in the WNBA. Te’a Cooper of the Los Angeles Sparks missed a game in August 5 because of that. But after two negative tests, she would return on August 7.

The press release had PLAYERS from the Seattle Storm receive inconclusive tests. So that’s why the game was postponed outright. Like I said, the good news is that they’re INCONCLUSIVE. There were no positive tests. So there were possibly botches in the testing. The Storm players need to receive two negative tests before they’re cleared.

We don’t have a rescheduled date for Game 1. But with the precedent, it could be two nights from now.

The most important thing is that the athletes are safe and healthy. This is definitely a bit scary but, again, they’re not positive tests.

We’ll have more as it develops.
