Eric Gordon Out For 6 Weeks After Knee Surgery

Eric Gordon’s knee might have been the reason why he’s shot so badly so far.

This was talked about on Tuesday. Now it’s officially offical. Rockets guard Eric Gordon went under the knife:

So while the Rockets have been chugging along with a 7-3 mark, Gordon hasn’t been exactly the instant offense he had been for most of his career. This season, he’s been averaging 10.9 points, which is way below his career mark of 16.6. Normally a reliable three-point shooter, he’s only hitting .284 from behind the arc. Overall, he’s been a miserable .309 from the field.

And now we know why. There’s debris on his knee that had to be taken out. Hopefully, he’ll be as good as new when he comes back at probably the start of 2020. Gordon has been one of the main weapons (especially outside) for Houston and while James Harden has been an INCREDIBLE scorer, he can’t do it alone.

Gordon came into the league in 2008 as the 7th overall pick by the L.A. Clippers. He turns 31 on Christmas Day so he’s still got a few good years in him.
