So Gordon Hayward got hurt again.

This time around, it was a collision with LaMarcus Aldridge before the half ended.

And this was the result:

The game is still going on as of writing so we’re not going to know for a bit about Hayward’s immediate future. If he doesn’t need surgery, he’ll be out for maybe a few weeks. If he does, like Stephen Curry recently did, we’re talking three months, which would take him out until February at the earliest.

It sucks because I had mentioned a few days ago that the Celtics’ quick start was probably because they’re getting a Gordon Hayward that is healthy. Well, that didn’t take long; he’s injured again. You always hate to see someone get hurt. The Celtics are still going to be pretty good without him but I don’t think they’re in that championship level if they don’t have a healthy Hayward.

Hayward hasn’t had the greatest stint in Boston. We remember when he got hurt in Opening Night of 2017; that leg injury took him out for the entire season. It was obvious that he wasn’t 100 percent last season as he worked his way back from the injury. Hayward came off the bench for most of that campaign.

Going into their game with the Spurs on Saturday night, he had been averaging 20.3 points, 7.9 boards, and 4.6 assists in 7 games. He was taking it to the hoop a ton so far this year. We’ll come back with his diagnosis in a later entry (maybe tomorrow or Monday). But everything about this just sucks.
