We know how much the Golden State Warriors are terrifying. And we know that Stephen Curry is probably gunning for that third MVP award.
Recently, Klay Thompson had been in a slump. I wasn’t worried. I thought it was a matter of time before he broke out of it.
Boy, did he break out of it.

FOURTEEN THREE-POINTERS. IN THREE QUARTERS.
Sometimes, people take this sort of thing for granted. Do people realize how INCREDIBLE that is?
We call Curry the greatest shooter of all-time. Klay is probably second. His release is arguably quicker. And his fire is possibly hotter than Curry’s, if you can believe that. When either of the Splash Brothers gets going, IT IS UNSTOPPABLE.
We obviously marvel over Curry’s shooting and scoring prowess. We’ve talked about how he changed the game because everyone literally has to keep an eye on him when he’s on the court. Because of this, it opens up things for guys like Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant. Like I said, the Warriors are terrifying.
And we know that this isn’t the first time Klay Thompson became a volcano. (No, he literally did not become a volcano; that would be disastrous.) Remember when Klay scored 37 points in a quarter? What about the time Klay went for 60 points in three quarters? And how about when he saved the Warriors from playoff elimination by converting 11 three-pointers in Game 6 of the West Finals (by the way, that’s still a record)?
Curry and Durant loom so large over this team that we forget, sometimes, what Klay Thompson is capable of. Another reason why the Dubs are considered the greatest team of all-time by many.
And since 14 threes were done in three quarters, don’t be surprised if Klay or Curry beat that record yet again. It’s so absurd but it doesn’t make it impossible and it doesn’t make it less spectacular.
