Welcome to the Basketball Hangover. I write about what’s happening in the WNBA daily as we try to heal from this pandemic.

The Atlanta Dream win their third straight game as they edged out the Dallas Wings.
The Wings did their best to rally down from a double digit lead in the fourth quarter. Even though the Dream went on an offensive drought, the Wings didn’t take advantage as neither team scored for over two minutes late in the game. The Wings had to play the foul game and they never got closer than four points.
Tiffany Hayes returning has been a boon for the Dream. She scored 26 points for the second straight game. Chennedy Carter dropped 21 while Monique Billings went for a 10-point, 11-board double-double. Aari McDonald, the #3 overall pick, went for 9 points.
The ladies picked ahead of McDonald got a bit of PT. Charli Collier started but, once again, was only limited to under 10 minutes (three points). Awak Kuier, the second pick, only scored a single point in under 7 minutes of action.
The backcourt of Arike Ogunbowale and Marina Mabrey continue to get buckets. They scored a combined 48 points, which is more than half of the team. Mabrey could be in the running for Most Improved Player this season as her scoring average has more than doubled last season’s (10.0 to 20.5 points per game).
Either way, through all the chaos in the Atlanta Dream (the ownership, management, and coaching changes), it’s impressive that the Dream have been able to keep it together in this stretch and win three straight.

Carter is so good at the baseline. Really. Just watch her operate when she gets there.
Everyone, please take care of yourselves during this pandemic. And that goes for everyone involved with the WNBA as well.
