Welcome to the Basketball Hangover. We are in the WNBA Finals! Exciting!

The Storm are on the brink of winning it all again.
The offense looked more smooth for the Las Vegas Aces early. A’ja Wilson was getting to her spots faster. Kayla McBride was getting more open looks from three.
But Seattle’s offense just flowed. Sue Bird continued to drop dimes. Breanna Stewart and Alysha Clark got going behind downtown. The Storm built a 43-30 lead in the second quarter.
As we had seen before, though, Vegas went on a run. They were able to go on a 12-2 stampede before it was snuffed by Stewie’s three.
Vegas was able to score six quick points at the start of the third. They took the lead briefly and went back and forth with the Storm. But by the fourth quarter, Seattle just took over. We got back-to-back lay-ups by Jordin Canada. Natasha Howard got a few buckets in. And then a barrage of threes from Bird and Clark put the Storm at the hundred mark.
The Aces couldn’t stop the Storm offense. Newcomer Emma Cannon did what she could to replace Dearica Hamby‘s offense with 17 points. A’ja did score 20 points. But the Storm got three players over 20 (Stewart had 22 while Howard and Clark each had 21) and Sue Bird had another awesome game with 16 points and 10 assists. Just way too much from Seattle.
Seattle is on the verge of winning another championship. They could be celebrating by Tuesday night if the Aces don’t put a stop to this. But selfishly, I want them to live in the bubble for a week more so we can see a maximum of five games.
It doesn’t seem likely, though. The chances of this going five seem to be about as good of a chance of me scoring a date with Anna Kendrick.
Bullet Passes
It’s not that because Vegas shot terribly (52 percent) but the Storm shot WAY better (57.1 percent). The signature rough Aces defense is nowhere to be seen.
Both teams passed really well, too. Vegas had an outstanding passing game on Sunday with 29 assists but Storm did them even better at 33, which is a Finals record.
The Storm would tie the Houston Comets and Minnesota Lynx should they win this Finals at four championships apiece, the most in league history.

Some of y’all wouldn’t even notice Alysha Clark in the corner. Nice no-look pass by Sue.

It’s win or go home on Tuesday for Vegas. Or else, we’re seeing a WNBA championship go to the Storm yet again. Take care, everyone.
