Zion Williamson will be out for a bit.

Injuries suck. Zion Williamson is one of the most anticipated players to watch this season. When the New Orleans Pelicans ruled him out of the last preseason game and they said it was NOT a precaution, it kinda gave us the heebie-jeebies.
Well, the reality has set down. Here’s the press release from the Pelicans.
We won’t see Zion Williamson play in the NBA until December. Hell, he might be out the rest of the calendar year. And I hope it’s not any longer than that. They said that the best case is six weeks, which would make it December 2.
Also, let me correct myself: Zion Williamson has been the most anticipated rookie to watch since LeBron James. The hype has been out of this world. I mean, this picture with fellow draft pick Goga Bitadze says it all.
I am Goga. Forever alone. 🙁

Anyway, some people did question his frame. Williamson is 6’6″ and a hefty 285 pounds. But that’s what makes him so remarkable. His athleticism on that build is amazing. Zion dunks from the free throw line with relative ease. And because of the way his body is constructed, he’s got incredible power. The LeBron comparisons aren’t too farfetched because LeBron is also built like a house.
Let’s hope he can stay healthy after this. After all, Blake Griffin missed an entire season before playing a regular season game and he turned out to be fine.
