People are obsessed with power rankings. So naturally, we have one of our own but it’s not about how good sports teams are. Every Monday, we look at 10 things in the NBA (or not) and rank them in order of how much we liked each thing. Don’t agree with them? Make your own rankings!

1) Warriors/Jazz Was An Awesome Game
Super loud crowd. Jazz scoring explosion in the first half. Warriors came back and it ended with a former Jazz player getting the game-winning tip-in for the Dubs (whaddup, Jonas Jerebko?). What a game it was. It felt very much like a playoff game and we’re only in Opening Week!
2) It’s A Good Time To Be A Nikola In The NBA
So on Saturday night, Nikola Vucevic got a triple-double (27-13-12). Later in the night, Nikola Jokic went perfect from the field (11/11 FG) and ended with his own trip-dub (35-12-11). Those performances followed Nikola Mirotic‘s 36-point performance from Friday night.
My friend asked about Nikola Pekovic but he’s out of the league and we’re wondering where in the world he is.

3) Roundball Rock Kawhi Leonard Remix
This is how we started Opening Week. It just really gets me when the octave goes higher.

4) LeBron and Dame Had A Bit of a Dunk Duel
I just love how the crowd went nuts after these dunks by these opposing stars.

5) James Harden Goes Past LeBron and Throws Down
Lost in the shuffle from Saturday night’s Rockets/Lakers game was this move by James Harden. Sometimes, we forget he can do this sort of thing.

6) Caris LeVert Is Making Music Like His Family
Okay, not the kind of music his uncle Eddie (lead singer of the O’Jays) and cousins Sean and Gerald (from the R&B group, LeVert). BUT he’s had averages of 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this week. And we can’t forget his game-winner against the Knicks.

7) Kelly Olynyk Sinks The Wizards
The Heat win after a putback by Kelly Olynyk, who has done plenty of heroics in the league.

8) Trae Young Is The First Rookie to Score 30 or More This Season
Prematurely labeled as a bust by many, Trae Young went for 35 points and 11 dimes in a blowout win over Cleveland. Do your thing, Trae.

9) The Rockets/Lakers Melee
We love conflict. We love heated people. We love skirmishes. We’re such a bloodthirsty society.
But yeah, I do love the passion and, sometimes, I don’t even mind if they settle their differences by throwing hands. However, we can also obsess over the details. Who spit on Chris Paul? Why did Brandon Ingram start this? It comes to the point that all the other cool things that night get overlooked.
Even me writing about this is a great example! I already wrote about this event the most. So I’m going to stop here. Thankfully, nobody got seriously hurt because if it escalated further, we’d be talking about how each person might be out for months because of shattered faces.

10) Dwight Howard Is Out With A BUTT Injury
I know we shouldn’t laugh at injuries…
BUTT…
