This is the Hangover. We get basketball-wasted all the time. Yes, we recap the NBA every night in our own way.

It’s all about the Super Bowl on Sunday. But before that game happened, four games occurred in the NBA. Let’s check ’em out.
02/07/2016
THE GAMES
DENVER NUGGETS 101 (21-31) @ NEW YORK KNICKS 96 (23-31)
So I guess this is the Carmelo Anthony Bowl, right?
Emmanuel Mudiay scored 9 points in a late 11-2 run to give the Nuggets the lead. Knicks had a chance to tie the game with 11 seconds left but Melo missed the three that would’ve sent it to OT.
So winner in this game got Carmelo, right?
BEHIND THE LINES
Will Barton (DEN): 19 pts, 11 rebs, 5 assts.
Danilo Gallinari (DEN): 19 pts.
Joffrey Lauvergne (DEN): 12 pts, 10 rebs.
Carmelo Anthony (NY): 21 pts, 6 rebs, 7 assts.
Kristaps Porzingis (NY): 21 pts, 13 rebs.
ATLANTA HAWKS 94 (30-23) @ ORLANDO MAGIC 96 (22-28)
The Hawks played down for most of the game before Al Horford and Jeff Teague led the comeback. Back-to-back threes by Thabo Sefolosha and Kent Bazemore tied the game at 94. The Hawks got three chances to take the lead before the Magic eventually rebounded the ball. And with 2.2 seconds left, Nikola Vucevic put up a turnaround fadeaway, wished upon a star, and made the game-winner.
This was a win that the Magic sorely needed in such a horrendous 2016.
BEHIND THE LINES
Aaron Gordon (ORL): 11 pts, 13 rebs, 4 blks.
Elfrid Payton (ORL): 12 pts, 12 assts.
Evan Fournier (ORL): 21 pts.
Nikola Vucevic (ORL): 22 pts, 9 rebs.
Kent Bazemore (ATL): 23 pts, 8 rebs.
Jeff Teague (ATL): 24 pts, 5 assts.
SACRAMENTO KINGS 119 (21-30) @ BOSTON CELTICS 128 (31-22)
If you like baskets and putting things into a hole, then you would like this game.
Other than a 4-0 start by Sactown, though, it was all Celtics. Boston led, 46-37, after the first quarter! The scoring binge continued throughout the game that saw the Celtics lead big. Kings cut it to six by the fourth quarter before an Avery Bradley three stopped the comeback.
And on another note, the Kings lost with that same score the last two games.
BEHIND THE LINES
Avery Bradley (BOS): 25 pts.
Isaiah Thomas (BOS): 22 pts, 9 assts.
Jared Sullinger (BOS): 21 pts, 6 rebs, 3 stls.
DeMarcus Cousins (SAC): 31 pts, 7 rebs, 6 assts.
Rajon Rondo (SAC): 14 pts, 5 rebs, 15 assts, 6 stls.
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 100 (34-17) @ MIAMI HEAT 93 (29-23)
The Clippers took control of the game in the second half. The Heat had it down to three before a 14-5 run led by Jamal Crawford, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Jordan put the game away. Let’s just hope the Clippers don’t break any more of their hands.
BEHIND THE LINES
Jamal Crawford (LAC): 20 pts.
Chris Paul (LAC): 22 pts, 7 assts.
Hassan Whiteside (MIA): 10 pts, 10 rebs.
Chris Bosh (MIA): 17 pts, 5 rebs.
Dwyane Wade (MIA): 17 pts.
Goran Dragic (MIA): 17 pts, 5 rebs, 5 assts.

I love watching Cam. He's an absolute monster. Still has room to grow as a leader but he will figure it out.

THE TAKEAWAY
Obviously, Super Bowl Sunday happened. Just two things.
Kevin Durant happened to be in the Bay Area (they just played the Warriors) and was assigned to be photographer for the Players’ Tribune. Read about all the hard work as a media photographer and his perspective of the game.
Known Panthers fan Stephen Curry got to bang the drum before the team was introduced. Read all about it here.
Happy Monday!
