The Clippers received yet another blow to their team. And it happens to be a familiar injury to another player. Let’s have ESPN share that story:

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers has been diagnosed with a broken left hand, the team announced on Sunday.

While the team said he will be evaluated in Monday in Los Angeles and a timetable for his return established then, sources said that he likely will be out four to six weeks.

Rivers suffered the injury moments before he was ejected for arguing with officials Wednesday in the Clippers’ loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Initial X-rays came back negative, and Rivers told reporters he believed he had a bone bruise.

The Clippers are forming some kind of broken hand club. But nevertheless, this is quite the blow. The coach’s son plays great perimeter defense and has had some very good offensive games off the bench. He hasn’t been an excellent shooter but he’s relentless when it comes to driving to the basket. Austin has clearly been a different player since he became a Clipper.

With Austin out, Pablo Prigioni will likely get more PT. Jamal Crawford will probably also get time at point as well.

Rivers has averaged 8.1 points this season for the Clippers.
