So you know Tony Brown as the interim head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. But some of you may not know that he played in the NBA.

Brown was picked in the fourth round and the 82nd overall pick (when the NBA used to have 10 ROUNDS in the draft) in the 1982 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets. But he didn’t start with the NBA right away. He played in the CBA (Continental Basketball Association) before he got to the NBA in 1984-85. He played a full season with the Pacers. The 6’6″ swingman averaged 6.6 points and 3.5 boards.
Unfortunately, he would bounce around the NBA and would usually only stay around for a season with a team. He had his best scoring season in 1986-87 when he averaged 11.3 points for the Nets. Brown would never come close to that kind of production and playing time again. He would also play for the Bulls, Rockets, Bucks, Lakers, Jazz, Clippers, and Supersonics. Tony Brown would close his NBA career after seven seasons and 360 games in 1992. He had averages of 6.0 points and 2.1 rebounds.
Brown would play in Italy until 1994. He would go into coaching and would be an assistant coach for eight different NBA teams. He had been with the Nets since 2014 and he took over the coaching job three days ago.
Good luck, Tony Brown. And honestly, a big emphasis on the luck part.
