Look at them big dudes scrap!

On Wednesday night, Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid had a little scuffle on the court. They have quite the beef history (thanks, SB Nation), by the way. KAT did throw a punch but it was more of a wrestling match. Ben Simmons got in there and even had a chokehold that lasted for probably a second even though KAT visibly pounded the floor in a struggle to breathe. Simmons was labeled as a peacemaker. That’s rich.
Anyway, the verdict is in. Here’s Shams Charania of the Athletic.
I’m actually a little surprised that it wasn’t more. It’s not so much because of the fracas (which was PRETTY messy) but it was because they seemed to escalate their feud even more on social media. Not the most professional tweets. But, hey, KAT threw one punch and Embiid did not. I suppose that helped.
As for Simmons? Nothing. He didn’t get ejected from the game in the first place. But we’ll always have the image of Simmons having KAT in a bully choke.
The Sixers are a pretty deep team so they should be okay without Embiid for a couple of games. The Wolves have depended on KAT the entire time so that’s a big loss for them.
This feud will continue when the Sixers go to Minnesota on March 24th of next year. I know that some of y’all can’t wait for that.
