The Hangover: Warriors Hang On After Miraculous Rally From Clippers

This is the Hangover. We get basketball-wasted all the time. Yes, we recap the NBA every night in our own way.

A little slowdown after nearly every team played on Friday. Four games were played on Saturday.

THE GAMES

MILWAUKEE BUCKS 117 (24-33) @ ATLANTA HAWKS 109 (31-26) (2OT)

The deer missed some foul shots that should’ve put the game away. Instead, Dennis Schroder tied the game with three seconds left in regulation and they went OT. In the first OT, it happened again as Michael Carter-Williams missed a free throw that would’ve put the Bucks up three. Al Horford capitalized by tying the game inside with eight seconds left in OT. They added five more minutes to the clock once again.

The Bucks decided they had enough of this ish and scored the first 10 points of the second overtime. This time around, the Hawks couldn’t get out of that stampede.

BEHIND THE LINES
Greg Monroe (MIL): 24 pts, 12 rebs.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL): 19 pts, 12 rebs.
Jabari Parker (MIL): 28 pts, 13 rebs.
Dennis Schroder (ATL): 25 pts, 8 rebs, 10 assts.
Paul Millsap (ATL): 27 pts, 11 rebs, 6 assts.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS 94 (25-29) @ MIAMI HEAT 114 (31-24)

I mean, the Wizards were playing on their third game in three nights. What did you expect was going to happen? Even without Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, the Heat waxed a tired Washington team in the comforts of their home arena.

By the way, Hassan Whiteside did really good and stuff. Look at that stat line. He stuffed it.

BEHIND THE LINES
Goran Dragic (MIA): 24 pts, 7 rebs, 8 assts.
Luol Deng (MIA): 27 pts, 10 rebs.
Hassan Whiteside (MIA): 25 pts, 23 rebs.
Marcin Gortat (WAS): 14 pts, 13 rebs.
Bradley Beal (WAS): 19 pts.

NEW YORK KNICKS 103 (24-33) @ MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 95 (17-39)

The Wolves played catch-up the whole time except that the Knicks were in a Ferrari while them puppies were on a hoverboard. Those things are cool, right?

BEHIND THE LINES
Carmelo Anthony (NY): 30 pts, 11 rebs.
Robin Lopez (NY): 26 pts, 16 rebs, 3 blks.
Shabazz Muhammad (MIN): 20 pts.
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN): 24 pts, 8 rebs, 3 blks.
Andrew Wiggins (MIN): 24 pts, 5 rebs.
Ricky Rubio (MIN): 9 pts, 16 rebs, 3 stls.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS 115 (49-5) @ LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 112 (36-19)

It looked like the Warriors had it in the freezer as they were leading by 16 inside two minutes. But heaves from C.J. Wilcox and Pablo Prigioni combined with the Dubs being careless with the ball somehow cut the deficit to three. And the Warriors got careless again as Wilcox stole the ball from Iguodala in the waning seconds but his game-tying three didn’t come close.

Like I said, Warriors are looking more and more like the Rams at the tail end of the Greatest Show on Turf. Spectacular offense and it wins them a lot of games but turnovers and defense are also killing them. Sure, they’re 49-5 right now but this may bite them in the end.

Oh, hey. Draymond Green had another triple-double.

BEHIND THE LINES
Draymond Green (GS): 18 pts, 11 rebs, 10 assts.
Klay Thompson (GS): 32 pts, 7 rebs, 3 stls.
Stephen Curry (GS): 23 pts, 9 assts, 3 stls.

WATCH THIS PLAY

Not a lot of great plays on Saturday. This dunk by Andrew Wiggins is nice, though.
