So it never stops for the Bulls. Here’s ESPN with the report:

Chicago Bulls All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler will miss an additional 3-4 weeks with a left knee sprain, the team announced on Tuesday, meaning he will not play in the All-Star Game in Toronto on Sunday.

Butler suffered the knee sprain during the second quarter of last Friday night’s loss to the Denver Nuggets. Initially, the Bulls did not believe the injury was going to be too serious, but a subsequent checkup on Tuesday caused them to shut Butler down for at least another month.

Butler will sit out the All-Star Game after being voted to the team for the second straight season. The league announced that teammate Pau Gasol will take Butler’s place at All-Star Weekend.

Butler’s gone from being an unheralded late first-round pick by the Bulls to arguably the best shooting guard in the league. As mentioned, Butler was selected to his second straight all-star game but he isn’t going to play in the midseason classic. He is averaging a career-best 22.4 points per game as well as 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assist, and 1.7 steals.

The Bulls are already without Joakim Noah, who is likely to miss the entire season due to shoulder surgery. Derrick Rose is in and out of the line-up and it seems that it will likely be like that for the rest of his career. It’ll be interesting to see how the Bulls for the next month or so as they are currently 7th in the messy Eastern Conference at 27-24.

As for Pau, he’s at his usual stats of 17.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game.
